My favorite past time and hobby (apart from Scuba diving) is collecting and studying coins, tokens, medals and banknotes. I specialize in French and French Colonial coinage and banknotes, and in World replacement notes.I am the Exhibition Convenor for the Melbourne Chapter of the International Bank Note Society (IBNS), and the Editor of the yearly Journal of the Numismatic Association of Victoria. I am also Banknote Cataloger for I.S. Wright, Australia's largest numismatic dealer.
I strongly encourage you to join a relevant numismatic association to share with and benefit from your fellow collectors' knowledge. I am always amazed by the amount and the depth of expertise most club members have, and at their usual enthusiasm and willingness to share it with and to help other people in the hobby.I will be updating and improving this site as time permits, to develop it into a major reference for French and French Colonial numismatics.
