New Acquisitions for Year 2001

UPDATE:

NOTE: The next site update will be 2 January 2002. My boss is locking the door and I won't be able to gain access to the server. Oh well. I wish everyone a very safe and happy holiday period.
Well, I finally got around to renumbering the Ecuador section. I added the series number variations because the signatures change with each new series. I also rescanned my notes (regular issues) at 110 dpi to provide a higher resolution and thus more detail to better view the variations.
Generally speaking, I do posting of any donated scans I have received on the weekends and post them on the following Monday or Tuesday. So, if you submit donated scans, please be patient, they will be posted within a week.
As of 1 August 2001 I will no longer be accepting Italian "Notgeld". The reasons are as follows: 1. They are only a peripheral part of the banknote hobby, 2. They are difficult to categorize because of the combinations of bank names and city names, 3. They are a nightmare to find in the directory to create links and last but not least, 4. I'm just tired of working with them! I am also not very enthusiastic in regards to German/Austrian notgeld at this time either, unless they are in the higher denominations they probably won't be posted anytime soon.
For persons interested in donating scans to the website, I have provided general guidelines for scanning, format, naming, etc., on my "Note Information" page. Please try to follow the guidelines, they will save me a ton of work and allow me to post images much more quickly. Thank you!
I have been receiving many donated scans of some really exotic and scarce notes. I would like to thank all the contributors (you'll find them all listed below!) for their hard work and generosity. I do need to address one subject though, donated scans must be scans that the contributor has personally made of notes they own or notes that they were able to make a scan. More and more frequently I am receiving scans that are obtained from other sites to include Central Bank sites. I cannot use scans obtained in this manner. Even if a site says that the scan can be copied, the rights to the image still remain with the originator. Persons who donate scans obtained in this manner are in violation of copyright laws, regardless of their good intentions. The bottom line is, you can't contribute something as yours that you have no right to give!
I want to apologize to all who e-mail me but don't receive a response. I love to receive e-mail, I just hate to answer it! I also receive numerous requests for prices and note identification, but I just don't have the inclination or time to answer questions of this sort. Sorry.
